On Saturday July 8th, the Montana National Guard will host
an Open House at
Fort Harrison to help celebrate the 150th anniversary of the
establishment
of the Montana Militia, the 130th anniversary of the Montana
Army National
Guard (MTARNG) and the 70th anniversary of the Montana Air
National Guard
(MTANG). The Open
House will showcase our installation, equipment and allow
the public a closer look at their National Guard.
The event begins at 1000 in the North end of the parade
field with a
presentation by MG Quinn followed by an open invitation for
the public to
visit equipment and aircraft displays in the parade field
and at UTES, tour
the museum, visit the chapel and the historic walking
trail. The Fort
Harrison Service Club will also serve lunch for $3.00. This is a
significant event for our organization and for Montana. We should all feel
proud of the heritage, history and the value we bring to our
state and
nation.
The attached flyer provides additional information about the
event and a
copy of it will be given to each of our guests as they enter
the fort. If
you are in the Helena area on Saturday July 8th, please take
an opportunity
to attend this event and help show (y)our support to those
we serve.
