Americanism: Doug
Mason (Post Historian) presented Executive Committee Proposal 16-17 #4, titled
“2017 American Legion Boys State.” Frank Mason made a motion to accept proposal
as presented, Jack Pfau seconded the motion, motion was discussed and voted on.
Executive Committee Proposal 16-17 #4, titled “2017 American Legion Boys
State.” was approved unanimously. (See Attachment #4)
Doug Mason (Post Historian) presented Executive Committee
Proposal 16-17 #5, titled “2017 Oratorical Contest.” Frank Mason made a motion
to accept proposal as presented, Ike Slaughter seconded the motion, and motion
was discussed and voted on. Executive Committee Proposal 16-17 #5, titled “2017
Oratorical Contest.” was approved unanimously. (See Attachment #5)
Doug Mason (Post Historian) presented Executive
Committee Proposal 16-17 #6, titled “2017 American Legion Auxiliary Girls
State.” Ike Slaughter made a motion to accept proposal as presented, Frank Mason
seconded the motion, and motion was discussed and voted on. Executive Committee
Proposal 16-17 #4, titled “2017 American Legion Auxiliary Girls State.” was
approved unanimously. (See Attachment #6)
Ceremonials:
Children and Youth: Corey
Johnson (scholarship committee) presented the Scholarship Application to the
committee. Doug Mason made a motion to accept application as presented, Jack
Pfau seconded the motion, motion was discussed and voted on. Corvallis Post
#91’s Scholarship Application was approved unanimously. (See Attachment #1)
Economic: Doug
Mason (Post Historian) presented Executive Committee Proposal 16-17 #1, titled
“Student trip to Boeing Manufacturing Plant in Helena.” Ike Slaughter made a
motion to accept proposal as presented, Frank Mason seconded the motion, and
motion was discussed and voted on. Executive Committee Proposal 16-17 #1,
titled “Student trip to Boeing Manufacturing Plant in Helena.” was approved
unanimously with the addition that the post also pay for the students lunch
while in Helena. (See Attachment #2)
Doug Mason (Post Historian) presented Executive
Committee Proposal 16-17 #2, titled “Student trip to Selway Corporation and
Cooper Firearms.” The proposal was tabled until more information can be
obtained.
Finance: Doug
Mason nominated Brad Burgess to be on the Finance committee, it was seconded by
Frank Mason; nomination was discussed and voted on. Brad Burgess was approved
unanimously.

Public Relations: Doug
Mason made a motion for the post to start a Facebook page, a blog, and email
address. The motion was seconded by Jack Pfau, the motion was discussed. The
committee agreed that more publicity is need for our programs to grow and be
successful. Corvallis Post #91 main objective is to get more members, so we can
accomplish programs for the community, state and nation. The motion was voted
on and passed unanimously.

National Security: Doug
Mason (Post Historian) presented Executive Committee Proposal 16-17 #3, titled
“Active Duty Reconnect.” Doug Mason made a motion to accept proposal as
presented, Don Goodnight seconded the motion, and motion was discussed and
voted on. Executive Committee Proposal 16-17 #3, titled “Active Duty Reconnect”
was approved unanimously. (See Attachment #3)
